Helen Caulfield
Senior Associate
Helen is a Senior Associate working in the Compensation department, specialising in catastrophic cases caused through clinical negligence or personal injury.
Expertise
Helen has worked in the legal sector for the vast majority of her working life, specialising in the fields of clinical negligence and serious personal injury for almost 20 years. She has a passion for helping clients who have been left with life-changing injuries, ensuring both them and their families receive the financial and practical support they need and deserve.
Helen has a particular interest in birth injury claims, including injuries to mothers, as well as claims involving gynaecological care and delays in cancer diagnoses, as these are where Helen feels as though she can make the most difference.
Helen has also more recently had the opportunity to work with a number of clients who have experienced amputations, which has proven incredibly rewarding.
Whilst the aim in pursuing both clinical negligence and personal injury claims is to secure compensation for those who have been the victim of negligence, to provide support now and security for their future, the process is usually very different, due to the nature of the injuries in accident claims and the fact extensive rehabilitation is often needed before a final prognosis can be ascertained. This can bring its own set of challenges and being able to guide clients through this process, at a time when their lives have suddenly, and often traumatically, been turned upside down, brings Helen a significant degree of achievement and sense of pride.
