Donna is Head of Operations for the Compensation department.
Expertise
At first, Donna specialised in accident at work cases, particularly injuries sustained by military personnel, as she was a member of the Army Reserve for 13 years. For 15 years, she then assisted with both clinical negligence and personal injury matters and has developed an excellent level of expertise in Acquired Brain Injury and Traumatic Brain Injury cases and complex orthopaedic trauma.
Donna has developed a high level of understanding in the drafting of Schedules of Loss which enables our clients to maximise their potential claims. Donna excels at ensuring cases are managed effectively. She undertakes case work in seamless parallel with lead solicitors and directors and she goes above and beyond to ensure that cases are in exceptional order for both settlement meetings and trials. Donna is skilled at knowing a file inside and out and providing the client with continuous updates and keeping the Defendant on their toes.
Donna has assisted with developing relationships and collaborations with organisations who can help with a client’s pathway to vital therapy and support services, which plays a major part in their recovery and building a better lifestyle. Essentially, she is a vital member within the team.
Experience
- Assisting with high value birth injury claims exceeding £10 million
- Assisting with claims for catastrophic injuries following personal injury, including Road Traffic Accidents
- Applications to Court of Protection for Deputyship Orders during and after settlement
- Heading the Deputyship and Trust team who assist with administration on behalf of the Professional Deputies
Qualifications
- Finance & Business Law Degree
- Qualified Costs Draftsman (ILEX)
Successful Cases
Over the years Donna has assisted both Mark Slade and Fran Manley with settlement of their catastrophic brain injury cases (resulting in lack of capacity) and has continued to assist the injured person and their families after obtaining Deputyship Orders through the Court of Protection.
